Jason Nicholson
Administrator – Arts, Rentals and Events

Jason Nicholson oversees the Arts, Rentals and Events Section, which was formed in 2024. This team connects residents by planning and managing the logistics for community and neighborhood events, managing a range of rental venues and creating opportunities to connect with the arts through classes, creative spaces and performances.
In this new role, Jason focuses on identifying creative problem-solving strategies that enhance the customer experience, overseeing the growth of creative programming within arts facilities, maximizing family and community event opportunities, and advancing public art projects.
Jason has been with the department for more than 30 years. Most recently, he was the special events coordinator, where he helped shape the City’s policies and guidelines for creating safe and successful events. He is most proud of the relationships he has developed across City departments and with event professionals, non-profit organizations and community volunteers who have come together to foster meaningful and accessible opportunities in Columbus.
Jason earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation management from Indiana State University.
