Therapeutic Recreation Summer Camps are an inclusive camp experience for youth with and without disabilities. Campers engage in weekly theme-based activities to strengthen social skills, increase leisure awareness, and build fine and gross motor coordination. With a staff-to-camper ratio of 1:3, campers have the opportunity to work in small groups to complete tasks that will build confidence and foster independence. Daily activities include swimming, gym games, social-emotional learning, cooking, gardening, and arts and crafts. Accessible transportation is provided for field trips. Campers must be able to follow instructions and function independently and safely in small group and community settings. Therapeutic Recreation staff are unable to provide 1:1 care for campers who require individual support for behaviors, elopement, medical, or personal care needs. 1:1 care providers who are coordinated by the caregiver are welcome to attend camp with campers. Contracted, qualified personal care support may be available on an as-needed basis. Note: *Campers must be enrolled in school.
