Community Sports Partner
In an effort to support youth sports programming within our communities, Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has created the Community Sports Partner program. This program was designed to assist and incentivize groups who are creating or providing a youth sports program while providing safe and engaging opportunities in sports.
All Community Sports Partner applications will be evaluated and approved based on department guidelines by department staff.
Information
With a few simple steps, participating organizations will receive a discount on outdoor facility rental fees. These steps include providing documentation for the following:
501c3 Non-Profit Organization Status
- Must submit a copy of IRS 501c3 letter to Columbus Recreation and Parks.
- An Employer Identification Number (EIN) must be provided and approved.
Insurance Policy naming the City of Columbus as additionally insured
- $1,000,000 minimum per occurrence.
Organization’s Yearly Budget
- Must complete the general financial information form.
- Must show documentation of expenditures and revenues.
Background Checks for Head Coaches
- May be done through Columbus Recreation and Parks at cost of $8/person.
- Organizations may conduct their own background checks and provide documentation to Columbus Recreation and Parks.
Organization’s coaches must attend a Columbus Recreation and Parks facility meeting and coaches clinic
- Will be scheduled through Sports Office.
Must be creating or providing a youth sports program for an under-resourced population.
