Camp Chase Trail

The Camp Chase Trail is a rail trail that stretches from Madison County to the Scioto Trail. The Camp Chase Trail is also designated as part of the Ohio to Erie Trail and U.S. Bicycle Route 50. Users of the Camp Chase Trail can closely observe how the landscape changes from rural to urban as they travel from Madison County to the west side of Columbus. Users can also experience many other nearby parks, historical sites and public art from the trail. The Darby Creek Trail is also accessible from the Camp Chase Trail.

The Camp Chase Trail is named after the Camp Chase railroad it runs along and the nearby historic Camp Chase on Sullivant Ave. Camp Chase was a training camp for Union forces during the Civil War. It later became a prison and subsequently a cemetery for Confederate soldiers.
