Overview
Acquired in 1985,Catalpa Park is a 13.337-acre parkland reserve in the South East community. Nearby, you can enjoy Deer Lake Parkland and Sol Shenk Parkland.
History
In the 1900s, Dr. Ray Woodmansee bought over forty acres of land in the area and plated over 25,000 Catalpa Trees. This land became known as Catalpa Park, and became a weekend destination for Columbus residents. The land was eventually subdivided by Dr. Woodmansee in 1925.
