Ohio Blind Hockey
The sport of blind hockey is a fast-paced game with modifications that make it accessible for individuals who are blind and visually impaired. Three major adaptations are:
- A larger puck with bell bearings, allowing it to be heard.
- Players must be classified as eligible in one of the three International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) classifications.
- The referees carry an electronic whistle to indicate that the athletes can shoot at the goal.
Girl’s Hockey
Columbus Ice Hockey Club offers opportunities for girl hockey players between the ages of 13 and 19 featuring:
- A developmental program for girls that are new to the sport.
- Teams at various age levels.
- Participation in out-of-town games and tournaments.
CIHC also offers spring and summer roller hockey, specialized power skating camp and other summer development opportunities.
