Pollinator Field Day

You won’t want to miss the annual Pollinator Field Day, held at the prairie at Whetstone Park! This event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Volunteers will be removing invasive species and performing general maintenance of the pollinator habitat in Whetstone Park. Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and clothes that can get messy. Our staff will provide all supplies and equipment for the event. This is a really fun way to volunteer and give back to your local community while helping the environment!

After Pollinator Field Day, the first Columbus ArborFest will be held at Whetstone Park! Volunteer, and then you are invited to stay for the fun Columbus ArborFest! This will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24. Enjoy guided walks to nearby waterways, forests, Columbus Park of Roses and the prairie at Whetstone Park. Talk with City arborists, listen to live music and enjoy food from local food trucks. There will also be arts and crafts activities for kids, as well as big vehicles for them to explore. This is a family-friendly event!
The Tree Summit will also be held at 2 p.m. at the Whetstone Park Shelterhouse. Join for a conversation about Columbus’ tree canopy and the work local organizations are doing to grow it!
