Nicole Smith

Nicole Smith was named HR Officer for Columbus Recreation and Parks Department in 2024.
Nicole is an accomplished human resources professional with 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector and the public sector at the state and City levels. Most recently, Nicole served as the HR Manager of the City of Columbus’ Department of Neighborhoods, where she held roles of increasing responsibility.
Prior to joining the City, she held roles in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and with the Ohio Treasurer of State. She is on the board of the Ohio Public Employer Labor Relations (OHPELRA) Association and serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Women & Leadership Program at Ashland University.
Nicole received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in African American Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management from Ashland University.
