Marion Franklin Pool
New Pool Coming in 2027!
The Marion Franklin Pool is getting a major upgrade. This exciting project includes a brand-new multi-feature pool with lap lanes, a dive well, aquatic play areas for all ages and a fully renovated bath house. Designed with accessibility, safety and fun in mind, the new facility will serve as a vibrant community space for families, neighbors and visitors across the Far South neighborhood.
Construction will begin in the fall 2025, with completion expected in late summer 2026. The new pool will open at the beginning of the summer season in 2027.
This project is a collaboration between Columbus Recreation and Parks Department and our dedicated design and construction teams. Marker Construction is proud to lead coordination and construction efforts on this community investment.

Project Updates
September 2025
Design is wrapped, permits are in hand and construction kicked off the week of Sept. 1. Marker Construction, our Construction Manager at Risk, has secured long-lead materials and is mobilizing now. The brand-new facility is on track to open in June 2026.
April 2026
Construction is underway. We are looking at a late summer/fall completion. Procurements and the weather have been a challenge, and it did not enable us to open the pool this June as originally planned. The department is looking forward to competing this project and aiming for a very busy season at this location opening in early summer 2027.
Anticipated Project Schedule
- Construction Start: September 2025
- Construction Completion: Pool renovations are expected to be completed in late summer 2026
- Pool Opening: The Marion Franklin Pool will open at the beginning of the summer swim season in 2027
