Willow Creek Park

Welcome to Willow Creek Park!

Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is beginning the redevelopment of Willow Creek Park in the fall of 2023, starting with the creation of a master plan for the park and preserve.

The redevelopment of Willow Creek Park will support and complement other parks in the southwest quadrant of the city, while creating a re-imagined neighborhood park for nearby residents. After master planning and design is complete, the park will be redeveloped. The anticipated timeline to complete construction on Willow Creek Park is fall 2028.

The redevelopment of Willow Creek is possible through funding from the City of Columbus and federal grants.

Anticipated Project Schedule

  • November 2023 – Open house to gain public feedback
  • January 2024 – Open house to share preliminary design
  • Fall 2028 – Park renovation expected to be complete

Key Dates

Sept. 8, 2026

  • Demolition of the shelterhouse, playground and basketball court begins to prepare the site for future construction.

Jan. 25, 2024

  • Public open house hosted at the Franklin County Forensic Science Center, located at 2090 Frank Road, Columbus.
