Outdoor Recreation Summer Camps
Outdoor Recreation Summer Camps
Registration
Registration:
Online: Thursday, Feb. 19 | Columbus residents: 12 p.m. | General public: 7 p.m.
Residency Policy:
Residents are those who live within the municipal boundaries of Columbus. There is a 20 percent non-resident fee, which will be added at registration. To ensure accurate billing, indicate residency when adding your camper, as incomplete residency status defaults to non-resident fees. To update your camper’s status, go to “Manage Family Member,” click “Edit” by the camper’s name, then update “Address Information.” We cannot issue credits or refunds due to residency errors.
Look up your address at franklincountyauditor.com. If Columbus is your tax district, you qualify for resident rates and registration.
Accommodation Requests:
Columbus Recreation and Parks Department strives to ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to engage in summer camp. We welcome campers of all backgrounds and abilities, supporting individual needs through reasonable accommodations without fundamentally altering the program. The goal of our Accommodation Request process is to collaborate with the family and camp staff to create an inclusive, safe, enjoyable experience that offers a range of support for developmental, learning, physical and sensory needs.
If a family requests an accommodation for their camper, Columbus Recreation and Parks Department’s Therapeutic Recreation specialists will complete an assessment with the family and, if appropriate, collaborate with camp staff to provide education and tools to create a successful environment. Examples of accommodations include but are not limited to: American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, quiet rest breaks, using headphones in loud settings, using fidget devices or having a calm down kit, modifying activities to be inclusive of the camper’s physical needs, scheduled restroom breaks, using visual schedules and using token reward systems familiar to the camper.
