Elementary Clay Academy (ages 8-12)
Elementary Clay Academy is a two-week-long introduction to the visual arts in the medium of clay. Campers will be able to create in clay during the first week, practicing their hand-building and wheel-throwing skills and being encouraged to fine-tune their artwork. We will glaze and decorate our artwork during the second week of camp. We will host an end-of-camp Gallery Show on the last Thursday of camp. This camp offers young artists a chance to be introduced to the ceramics medium while also enjoying fun camp favorites like swimming, games and team-building activities.
Note: To ensure a successful experience, this camp is best suited for participants who can focus for a significant period of time, follow multi-step instructions and work independently in a group setting. Studio sessions will be 90-120 minutes in length twice a day.
