This camp is led by The Fuse Factory and Digital Arts Lab, Columbus-based organizations that promote the exploration of art, music and technology for campers ages 11-14. Campers can choose from three camps: Camp Amplifier, Camp Oscillator and Camp Music Improvisation.

Registration Fee
Columbus residents: $150 / Non-resident fees apply

Meals
Not provided. Bring lunch and a personal water bottle (with camper’s name).

Camp Hours: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Before Camp Drop-Off: 10:30-11 a.m.  |  After Camp Pick-Up: 3-3:30 p.m.

Late Pick-Up Fee: A $15 fee applies for pick-ups between 3:30-3:45 p.m., with an additional charge of $1 per minute for arrivals after 3:45 p.m.

CAMP AMPLIFIER

In this stimulating and engaging camp, campers will learn the fundamentals of electronic music production, including sound design, arrangement and mixing. Campers will also learn fundamentals of music improvisation. The camp will conclude with the campers putting on a musical performance for family and friends. No previous programming or musical experience is necessary.

CAMP MUSIC IMPROVISATION 

In this unique and engaging camp, campers will learn the fundamentals of musical improvisation such as active listening, creating a flowing melodic line and experimenting using sound, space and interaction to shape a piece. They will also have musical guests illustrating the different concepts and listen to a range of improvised music, from blues and bebop to free improvisation to ragas and more. The camp will conclude with the campers putting on an improvised musical performance for family and friends. No previous musical experience with jazz or improvising is necessary, however, some experience learning how to play an instrument will be helpful.

CAMP OSCILLATOR

In this stimulating and engaging camp, campers will build upon the fundamentals of electronic music production, including sound design, arrangement and mixing, as well as build upon the fundamentals of music improvisation. The camp will conclude with the campers putting on a musical performance for family and friends. Some previous musical and/or improvisational experience is helpful, but not necessary.
